The DETC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

The American Council on Education, ACE/College Credit Recommendation Service (formerly ACE/PONSI), is nationally recognized as a major coordinating body for postsecondary education. Many Penn Foster College degree programs have been evaluated for college transfer credit by ACE/College Credit Recommendation Service. The suggested transfer credits are listed in The National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs published by the American Council on Education.*

CEUs serve as a nationally recognized unit of measure for continuing education and training.

If you are planning to continue your education with another school after you earn your degree from Penn Foster, you should check with that school regarding credit transfer policies. Credits earned in Penn Foster programs may transfer to some, but not all, learning institutions. Penn Foster degree courses have been reviewed by the ACE College Credit Recommendation Service and are listed in the National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs. Many colleges use the recommendations made by ACE to determine credit transfer values.
